Testing for Environmental Microbiology and Aquatic Toxicity requires extensive and well developed skills dealing with various organisms to meet regulatory discharge requirements to ensure the safety and quality of water sources in the natural habitats. Pace Analytical National Center for Testing & Innovation uses well trained and experienced personnel and state of the art facilities to meet the monitoring needs for these classes of testing.
Testing Capabilities and Experience
- Serial dilution testing for Fathead Minnow (Pimephales promelas) and Ceriodaphnia dubia to meet client discharge permit requirements
- Abbreviated testing to provide toxicity screening or for use in Pass/Fail permit requirements
- State specific testing requirements for discharge permit monitoring
- Identification and quantitation of human pathogenic bacteria (Enterococci spp., Fecal Coliform, Escherichia coli) in various matrices, including drinking water, ground water, waste water, and sludge
- Laboratory analytical support for the EPA Total Coliform Rule for public water supplies
- Analytical support of the EPA's Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule for Cryptosporidium and/or Giardia
- Screening tests for water quality and safety and the effectiveness of water treatment processes
Sampling Media and Containers
Appropriately sized sterile plastic or glass containers to perform single day or sampling over multiple days as required for specific testing protocols and containing chemical preservative, if necessary.
